Hi, I’m Ali Madani!

I am a researcher and founder at the intersection of AI and Biology. I currently serve as the CEO of Profluent where we are decoding the language of life with AI. Previously, I led machine learning research initiatives at Salesforce AI Research utilizing deep learning, language modeling, and computer vision. Most notably, I was the architect of the ProGen moonshot which advances generative modeling for protein design.

I completed my PhD at UC Berkeley and love building startups, with prior experience as a founder and early employee. My work has been accepted at top AI conferences, published in Nature and Cell family journals, and covered by Fortune, WSJ, TechCrunch, Forbes, BBC, Endpoints, and Axios.
